1st birthday cake ideas made fun and tasty for the little one.  The cake the baby will grab with both hands with joy and sweetness is one of the fondest memories of the 1st birthday. 

My daughter is eleven and I still tell her all the wonderful memories of her special day.  And how she grabbed her cake with both hands and ate it.  Oh how these memories are embedded in our hearts.

Making your own birthday cake is quite simple!  Here are some great tips and ideas to add to the fun. When your babies all grown up you can share the wonderful story on how you made his or her first birthday cake.

A great tip on creating you babies 1st birthday cake is to make three cakes. I know...it sound like a lot but really it is a great and fabulous idea. 

Your baby is going to naturally want to grab that cake and put it in her/ his mouth.  And you don't want to stop all this cuteness in action.  So create one just for the baby.

This is what I created and the little precious indulged but at the same time the guest were able to indulge too. I made:

• 1 small round cakes (specifically for the baby)
• 1 large rectangular cake
• 1 medium rectangular cake

When all cakes are cooked and cooled I created a two tier cake.  I put the medium rectangular cake on top of the large rectangular cake.  I decorated the cake with:

• Icing
• Edible homemade bows and ribbons
• Edible small, medium and large dots

Then I did the same to the small round cake and topped it off with a sweet little candle.  There you have it!  A perfect and ideal cake for the baby and all the guest to enjoy.
