Chinese New Year Decorations!

"I love the chic look of this theme!"

The best Chinese New Year Decorations for your theme are here.  If your like me, I don't have a china town or Chinese store in my area, therefore I had to get creative and make my own Chinese decorations myself.  And if you do, then I wish I was you :-) At first, I thought "is this going to be hard", but as I started I was finished all the decorations before you know it!

My daughter helped a little bit, but I finished everything in a flash!  And you can too!  No worries parents this great theme will have all your guests in Awe!

For the kids sitting area I took my patio table and removed the legs.  I propped it up just a little. Then I gathered all  my throw pillows around the house in replace of chairs to create a traditional Chinese style dinner.

I decorated the table with:

  • Faux white orchids, placed in glass vases with pebbles

  • A red table cloth

  • Gold in color paper plated and cups

  • Red Napkins

  • White tea cups

To give the napkins a beautiful look, I rolled them up and wrapped them in gold ribbon.  Then I slipped chopsticks in the center.  They looked gorgeous!

In the party room I created a tent like shape of beautiful long red banners that hung to the floor that had Chinese symbols.  The Chinese symbols were the symbols for Happy Birthday.  This decoration only cost me two dollars.  I went to my local dollar store and purchased:

  • Red table cloth

  • Black permanent markers

I cut the table cloth so I had long strips to create a banner.  Then I drew the Happy Birthday Chinese symbols down wards on my banner.  I made a total of four.  Then I hung them in the center if the party table, draped each banner to the wall, secured it and then allowed the rest to fall neatly to the floor.

Instead of Chinese symbols you can easily draw or print out picture of dragons and stick them on the banner.  Either way these fabulousChinese New Year Decorations will look awesome at your kids party!
