A scrapbook is something you want to take your time on.  Its precious and your child will have it for life.  Perhaps they will share it with their kids when they get older.

To make your scrapbook unique and special, take some quiet time and write a few letters or stories to your child.  I wrote about five in mine. 

I had titles such as:

1. When you were born
2. Your first words
3. Our precious late nights
4. Your first day of school
5. My wishes for you

You will be surprised on how many pages you will write per story.  Even though your child won't read it all on the same day of his/ her party, they will read it all eventually.

Dream Catcher

Keepsake Treasure Box

These homemade gifts for kids are wonderful for all ages!  This keepsake treasure box can be used to store:

• Photos

• First curly

• Items from the hospital when baby was born

• 1st pair of shoes

Or simply whatever your little one treasures.  There are many ways of creating this type of box and the ideas are endless.  So here are some great ideas for your special gift.

For the box area you can us items such as:

• Shoes box

• Plastic hard pencil case

• A wooden box

If you are using a shoe box I would recommend to cover the box with glue and add:

• Decorative wrapping or

• Scrapbooking paper or

• Designers paper

If you were to use paint on cardboard it may get soggy and wrinkled.  Use scrapbook materials to beautify your special treasure box. 

You can personalize the box with names, birthdates and or poems.

For a wooden box you you can take out the rotary tool kit and engrave some beautiful art work.  And once your finished with all the details you can spray the wooden box with a high gloss finishing spray.
