Chinese Homemade Invitations!

This homemade invitation need no innovation!

These homemade invitations are simple, yet so chic for your kids Chinese themed party.  The kids will love them and the adult will "awe" over them!  The total cost to create this beautiful invitation was a total of....get this parents... three to four dollars!  I was able to make a set of ten invitations.  If you need more, this invitation defiantly won't break the bank!  That local dollar store sure is great!

All you need:

  • 1 Bristol board for 10 invitations 2 Bristol board for 20 invitations
  • 1 calligraphy pen or 1 black permanent marker
  • 1 gold calligraphy pen or 1 gold glitter gel pen
  • Glue Stick

The rest of supplies you probably already have in your home such as:

  • Your computer and
  • Your printer
  • Small twigs from outside (2 per invitation)

To Do:

For the inside of your homemade invitation simply go to your Word and create a table of:

  1. 2 columns and 2 rows
  2. This way you can print 4 invitations per 1 sheet

Then in this area you can add:

IT'S A PARTY

THEME: CHINESE

Get creative and add some Chinese symbols, fonts, font colors or a picture of a dragon.  Then print them and cut them to wanted size.  The next step is to create a list of invited guest on Word on a "Landscape" page setting.  If your not sure go to:

  • File

  • Page Set-up

  • Landscape

  • Click ok

Write the guest list like so:

Susan

Michelle

Assure you have at least three spaces between each guest.  You will need the names to seal your invitation! Remember get creative and use unique fonts.  I kept my font color black and it looks awesome!

Print your guest list and cut each name in long strips.

Now take your Bristol board and cut strips of:

  • 12" long and

  • 2" wide

Glue the homemade invitations details in the center of red Bristol board.  Next fold the two ends down to cover the invitation.  Here you will:

  1. Add a dap of glue to secure invitation shut

  2. Add another dap of glue to secure the two small twigs

  3. Take your long strip with guest name

  4. Put the name in front of twigs, turn the invite over

  5. Secure shut with glue

Last but not least draw a Chinese symbols in the upper right hand corner!

The picture below is what the invite will look like when complete.
