Preparing is key to a great safe schools out for summer party!

With a summer party right in your back yard you will have the freedom to mingle with your girlfriends rather then chasing the kids down the beach. First thing is first check your area........

  • Make sure there are no sticks or sharp object lying around the grounds since some of the kids will be running around happily and freely around your yard
  • Empty and standing water and freshen your bird bath water. This will help eliminate pesky mosquitoes
  • To help control mosquitoes by hang decorative citronella coils around your trees or off a gazebo
  • If you have other creepy crawlers like ants and/or earwigs spray area with a pest controller the night before. This is prevent them from intruding on your summer party

Party Invitations

What a creative and unique invitation?  Try making them yourself.  So get creative and have some fun!  You will have the best schools out for summer party invitation and your RSVP's will be rolling in.  For this unique party invitation you will need these supplies.....

  • Card stock paper (for invitations)
  • Blue and white colored paper (to decorative invites)
  • White and stick glue
  • Glitter pens and/or scrapbooking letters (to write details of party)
  • Small bags of colored sand (regular sand and blue sand)
  • White thin rope (to wrap around invite once complete)
  • Star shells (as a decorative piece)

This look is a beach setting.  It will go great for your schools out for summer party theme.  And they are quite easy and simple.  First you begin by....

  • Then using the glue stick and rub it on the lower and middle part of the front of card (leave room for your sky)
  • Sprinkle the regular sand on the lower part of glue in a wavy style
  • Then add the blue sand to the middle part of card (this will be the water, make sure the top of water is a straight line)
  • Shake the card well to remove excess sand

Now that you are done with the sand art, wait a few minutes for it to dry.  Now, in the white blank space here you can add...

When completed, crisscross your white rope around your awesome invite and simply secure your starfish to it.  This is a fun but simple craft you and your kids will enjoy!

Party Decorations

Schools out for summer party decorations are easy and simple for the whole family.  Here are a few tips on how to make your backyard a little oasis for the kids.  Do you have a gazebo or tree in your back yard?  Try this.....

  • Add a sprinkle to your hoes or puncture many small holes in an old hoes
  • Pull your water hoes to your tree or gazebo
  • Secure it into or on top under your structure (rope preferably since it won't ruin your tree or structure)
  • Now turn on the hoes and you now have a beautiful water feature under your tree or under you gazebo

Your kids will love running through the water feature and you don't have to worry about regular sprinklers reaching you dinner table.  An added bonus, this will provide a focal point to your wonderful schools out for summer party.

Party Favors

Specialty Goodie Bags

Instead of the same old candies, give a medium beach bag or tot as the loot bag.  And add summer accessories inside of the bag.

A large Beach Towel

Wrap the large beach towel in a sailor looking rope.  Add a yummy treat as a dangling accessory off the center of the sailor rope. Then optionally  put the towel in a summer themes gift bag.

Gift Certificates to a.....

  • Movie Gift Certificates
  • Certificate to the Mall

A Summer Themed CD

Wrap the CD in your theme colors with ribbon and tissue paper.  Put them in a decorative dish and hand them out as guests make there way out.

Summer Party Food Ideas

Here are some great schools out for summer party food ideas for your kiddies.  Keep their tummies full but at the same time keeping them hydrated.  By your food area, set up a well stocked beverage stand.  Make your juices or punches with low sugar juice packets or use juice crystals from "crystal lit" or "Lipton".  Juices with high sugar may make the kids more thirsty rather then well hydrated

  • Shirley Temples
  • Cool Smoothies
  • Ice Tea
  • Lemonade

Finger Food

  • Pizza Fingers (bake a pizza as directed and cut them into finder shapes)
  • Party Mix (pretzels, cheese sticks, and corn chips mixed together)
  • Frozen Bananas rolled in chocolate chips
  • Cracker bruschetta bits

  • Chicken Kabobs
  • Taco Fajitas
  • Quesadillas
  • Subs

Sides

  • Tuna Dippers (for the tuna lover)
  • Mac and cheese salad
  • Feta cheese salad
  • Crackers -n- dip

Dessert

  • Frozen yogurt pops
  • Strawberry or berry Parfaits
  • Jello topped with whipped cream and fruit
