At a sleepover, parents may feel that the friends may get too hyper or quite excited.  The whimsical feel will give the kids a sense of....

• Calmness (especially when it's time to go to bed)

• Drape dark colored sparkly fabric from ceiling to floor

• Put your Christmas lights (preferably white lights) and hang them in the party room

 To create the best whimsical sleepover party room for boys....

• Drape dark colored fabric from ceiling to floor, the boys will like the forte or cabin like area

• Sporadically hang cut outs or handmade dragonflies, moons, stars, planets, birds from the ceiling

• Take out your white Christmas lights and hang or drape then on or from the ceiling

For the doors, hang glitter streamers from top to bottom.  But trim streamer in an upside down "U" shape for easy entrance.  Another great sleepover party idea is to pick up a couple of beautiful battery operated fountains.  And sit them on a unit or side table.  The sound of light water rushing will create a nice calm feeling and goes great with the whimsical feel.  These small fountains are inexpensive and there are many varieties to choose from. 

Tip: Want the fabric, but on a budget!  That's ok!  At your local dollar store, grab 4 to 5 different colored plastic table coverings.  Cut them in long strips and get the kids to rub glitter glue all over each strip or a couple of strips.  Get a little creative and paint some stars, moons and birds on them :-)

Food

Now, what's a sleepover party without the best and yummiest food and treats.  The best sleepover party idea whether for boys and girls are buffet style for everything, such as the....

The night before your kids sleepover party, clear an area where you think would be the best place.  A great place for this would be in their sleeping area.  For an example, if their slumber party is in the living room, then clear a corner and put a long rectangular table in the corner.  Here where all the beverages, food and snacks will be.  This way you don't have the kids running up and down the hallways or stairs.

To add that personalized touch and unique flare at your kids party try this fabulous sleepover party ideas.  This will be a hit and the kids will be surprise.  Ask a relative whether female or male to act out a Butler for the evening.  Ask the butler to dress in a suit and serve to the child's wishes. 

But remember, make it a surprise the kids will sure love this one.  To minimize the demands, the night before the party write a list the kids are able to ask of their butler.  But only at ever half hour for only 2 to3 hours.  This way, the butler won't get burnt out by the little commands and demands : -)
