Surprise Party Ideas Are Great For All Special Occasions!

Shshshsh...Its a SURPRISE!!

Are you in need of some cool surprise party ideas?  Hear are some simple surprise party ideas for your kids party!

Planning a kids surprise party is a little trickier then planning an adults surprise party.  First of all, kids are really excited about their birthday and know that there is a party coming soon.

A surprise party for kids is not for all ages but defiantly great for kids ten and over.  Kids are excited about their birthday and some want to be apart of the planning.  At the same time they are resilient and easy to trick. You could say to the child that:

  • We're having your party on Sunday, but you are really planning for the Saturday
  • So and so can't make it this year (but really they are)
  • I know you wanted your party at the bowling ally but we can't this year!  But, I will take you there for lunch on Friday!

The main idea is to keep it a surprise!  There would be nothing worse then planning for weeks even months and someone slips on the big party plan.

To have a successful surprise party for a child assure the message is crystal clear on the invitation and give it to the parents rather then the kids.  Hand delivering them is a great idea. This way you can share the surprise with the parents quietly and secretly.

Since kids love to talk and share surprises perhaps telling your child's friends parents rather then your child's friend will help keep it a surprise.  And an added bonus is your kids friends will have a little surprise too :-)   Tell parents your plan so they could be in on the surprise too!

If your worried about the invitations being seen by the kids...disguise it!  It sounds funny, but hey!  Its a surprise party :-) You can create invitations that appear like:

  • Coupons
  • Business Cards
  • Bills

These defiantly wont be picked up by the kids and these invitations are cool surprise party ideas!

After the invites are out, ask a relative to take your child out for the day.  Preferable in the morning, till the time of the party.  Even better, ask your relative to keep their cell phone on.  This way you can call and assure the timing is perfect!  This way you can do all the finishing touches such as the food, decorations and getting the kiddies situated before the big surprise.

When decorating for the big surprise make sure your windows are covered so the child can't see inside.  Fill the party room with balloons and streamers.  Add some cool items for the big reveal such as:

  • Strobe lighting
  • Party popper
  • Party streamers
  • Noise makers
  • Music

When everyone has arrived, this is your moment to surprise the guests with the big surprise!  They will all be excited and have a little time to find their perfect hide-out for the big reveal!

All the kids will have a blast!  Now, its time to do the BIG SURPRISE!!
