Tea Parties for Kids!

Pardon me, would you like some tea?

Tea parties for kids is the perfect magical theme for your little princess's special day!  Or any day is perfect for a tea party.  You can have these perfect little parties when:

  • Your child has a sleepover
  • When grandma is coming over for a visit
  • When you want to celebrate your child's achievements
  • One on one time with mom
  • Birthday

Either way these special days will be forever cherished by your little angel.

To set the mood

Set up a little area with a pretty table cloth.  Put out some fresh flowers in an elegant vase.  For the snacks you can have:

  • Tea biscuits
  • Cookies
  • A light dessert
  • Mini sandwiches
  • Pastries

Its a time to have light snacks and nothing too heavy.  Tea parties for kids are a time for socializing, elegancy or perfect for learning manners.

It is also a great time for mom or grandma to share their childhood stories or simply just story telling.  Either way a tea party is a perfect theme for your little one.

So grab the cutest and fluffiest dress for your little ladies and suits on the little gentlemen and get ready for a beautiful party.

Tea party decoration ideas

Whether the tea party is indoors or outdoors these decorations will go perfect:

  • Pastel colored table clothe
  • Pastel colored napkins
  • Silver ware
  • Vase filled with fresh or faux flowers

For the tea cups get a little creative and head to either:

  • Thrift store
  • Antique store
  • Garage sale

Look for some great deals on tea cup and matching saucer sets! They don't have to match, this will create a more traditional and adorable look for the party. Checking out the thrift shops are quite benefiting and best of all they won't break the bank.

Another wonderful decorating idea is to drape a pretty purple or pink fabric over the chairs and tie back with a ribbon.

You can also hang flowered vines around the tea area for a perfect garden and enchanted feel.

Crafts & Activities

Tea parties for kids is a whimsical time.  A time for relaxation, time together and creating memories.  So for your party have these activities and they will sure add to the theme

Design a Sun Hat

You can get an assortment of hats at any craft store.  Grab the cute large sun hats!  With these hats the kids could custom them to their liking.  They could add:

  • Flowers
  • Ribbons
  • Lace
  • Beads
  • Gems

This craft is simply for little hands and stress free for the parent.  Make these hats in the beginning of the tea party.  This way the little one can wear them though out the party.

Paint a Ceramic Tea Pot

You can pick these up at your local craft store or go to your local thrift shop for ceramic tea pots.  And all but not least your ceramic paint.

Clear an area in your home and put down some newspaper to protect work station.  Grab some old button up shirts and use these for aprons to protect the little ones fine clothing.

Now the kids just paint and then allow to dry!  The perfect craft and a perfect tea party favor too!

Makeover Station

A makeover can also be a great icebreaker.  Once the kids arrive have them sit at the makeover stations for a quick tea party transformation.  At this wonderful station have some:

  • Non-toxic children's make-up
  • Glitter
  • Clip on earrings
  • Pearls
  • Boas
  • barrettes
  • Top hats for the boys

To keep this activity simple ask a relative or young niece to work this area for you.  This way your hands are free for preparing the tea and snacks.

With the proper supervision put some cute ringlet's in the girls hair and add some pretty hair accessories.

Tea Party Favors

Here are some wonderful and perfect items to use for tea parties for kids.

  • Lace umbrellas
  • Bakes cookies with recipe
  • Feathered fans
  • Pearls

When creating a favor for the tea party guest put the favors in either:

  • Lace sachet
  • Trinket boxes
  • Tie a bow on the item
  • Gift bag

Then top the favor off with a personalized small card thanking the guests for their attendance.

Tea Party Games

When I had a tea party for a friends daughter we played games such as:

  • Pin the cup on the saucer
  • Musical chairs
  • Tea cup coin toss
  • A hoola-hoop challenge

Remember to save all your precious time for the tea party prepare all games the night before.
